Why we love this boat…
The plush seating doesn’t disappoint; it’s as comfortable as it looks. Plus the performance as well as the features make it a great all-around boat.
Just being picky…
There are three 12-volt outlets but only one USB port so it might be nice to add a couple more USB plugs so everyone can stay charged up while out for the day.

First Take
Yes, it is possible to experience the performance of a fiberglass deck boat while also enjoying the space and amenities of a pontoon. This latest FunDeck with stylish new furniture and helm console is all the proof you need since it was designed for boaters who want to have it all.
Kind Of A Big Deal
One of the main reasons these hybrids are so popular is because of the comfort they offer and that’s what really jumped out to us. Not only does the seating with the different textures and patterns look high-end, but it’s extremely comfortable with thoughtful added touches such as fold-down arms for the two chaise loungers in the bow with plenty of room to stretch out. Other comfortable seating options include the identical captain and co-captain chairs that both slide, swivel and recline, plus an amazing multi-position swingback lounger in the stern. With this lounger you can easily sit forward-facing or rear-facing and this particular area in the stern has a surprising amount of cup holders, which is always good to see. (We counted a total of at least 15 cup holders on board!)

Another advantage to the FunDeck is the overwhelming amount of storage options including under the seats, below the swingback lounger and there is even a “toy box” directly behind the captain’s chair that is ideal for tubes, fenders or just about anything else. Plus, the in-floor ski locker goes nearly the length of the boat so there’s really no telling how much you could store on this model if you wanted to.

At the helm behind the optional windscreen are two multi-function gauges with room to add up to a 7-inch digital map in between if you’d like. This is also where the push buttons are located with access to the upgraded Fusion stereo controls that power six total speakers for an amazing sound.

Other cool features include an anchor locker in the bow, a large swim deck with a telescoping boarding ladder, a standard power Bimini top and snap-in Panama Ice woven flooring.

Closer Look
From the keel line the hull bottom stretches out to wide, turned-down chines that carry all the way forward to almost square bows. Hull shapes like this are typically referred to as “cathedral” or “trihedral” hulls and this one is well done. The gel coat work is consistent and up top the rail height varies from 30 inches tall overall down to 15 inches in the stern for a safe family-friendly design.
Performance
The maximum horsepower for this Hurricane is a 250hp engine and that’s exactly what we had on our test boat. Powered with a Mercury 250hp outboard we recorded a zero-to-20-mph time of just under 6 seconds on our way to the mid 40 mph range at full throttle. As expected, she dives into the sharp turns and handles like a deck boat hull should for a fun and enjoyable ride.
Final Thoughts
The fit and finish work as well as the overall craftsmanship is outstanding on this classy- and sporty-looking FunDeck that has a nice balance of standard and optional features. You might consider adding a touchscreen to complete the dash, but otherwise as tested this hybrid is ready for a day on the water.
