Aria 22 Fish
First Impression
With some fishing models you get a stripped down basic floor plan and minimal comfort, but that’s clearly not the case with the release of the new 22F. Plush seating and creature comforts that are part of Barletta’s DNA are found on board this angler’s dream model.
Highlights
It’s a fishing model so let’s dive into the specific features that will help lure in anglers. For years the Indiana-based manufacturer has been working with Boat Outfitters, a division of Teak Isle, to get the most out of the space on board. Its fishing station is yet another example of what is possible from this company. Located in the stern, the fishing station includes two rod holders, rod storage, stow-away tackle trays, and these Yeti-Ready cupholders Barletta is known for. Though they’d be considered helm chairs on some models, the stern has two plush fishing chairs on each side of the fishing station.

Another Boat Outfitters product is located on the port side that includes a foldout table, drawer, and a large aerated livewell. A second and even larger livewell is located in the bench behind the high back reclining helm chair. More tackle trays can be found forward of the helm stand and are easily in reach for the two other fishing chairs located in the bow. To round out the fishing amenities, the half bow gate gives you the option to add a trolling motor if desired and inside the in-floor ski locker is a designated spot to store your fishing rods.

At the helm the 7-inch Simrad is one of only two options and it serves as a chartplotter and a way to keep an eye on your gauges electronically. Also integrated into the dash are two multi-function analog gauges, a row of rocker switches, and access to the JBL stereo controls. Below is a well-hidden pullout locking glove box. Also worth noting is the slide-out food/water dish for pets built into the helm stand as well as the power Bimini top.

Why we love this boat…The 22F goes ALL IN on the fishing amenities: two livewells, rod storage, tackle trays, and four fishing chairs that could be mistaken as helm chairs because of the comfort.
Inspection
Below deck, three 25-inch diameter pontoons are the foundation of this model and each are connected to the hybrid cross member configuration that is a combination of I-Beam and C-Channel. There are lifting strakes on the insides of the outer tubes and on both sides of the center pontoon.

Up top the rail height varies from 24 inches tall in the bow to 26 inches midship.

Performance
You could opt for the max 200hp outboard, but we love the pairing of this fishing model with the Mercury 150hp four-stroke. At full throttle we reached the 35mph mark after a zero-to-20 mph time of 4.3 seconds, which fully justifies the need for the Tube-Tow watersports cage. With the mechanical steering, she banks slightly in the tight turns and overall handles well, but we would recommend upgrading to hydraulic steering for the best performance.
Just being picky…The only feature keeping this from truly being an overthe-top fishing model is a wash down hose for cleaning up and for rinsing your hands. Regardless, this Aria is a keeper!
Final Thoughts
An ideal fishing boat has plenty of room to spread out and that’s what we love about this new Aria. It’s absolutely loaded with fishing features along with four extremely comfortable fishing chairs. If you can’t catch a fish on this new model it’s not the boat’s fault because as tested it is set up for success.
