First Impression
Looking for an exclusive model? Only 20 EVOs will be available this year through select dealerships, so the demand is sure to be high. EVO is a new boat added to the Montara lineup for 2026, offering a more luxurious, technologically advanced option. The aluminum wake-making hull, with the living-room comfort of a pontoon boat, creates a unique performance boat.
Highlights
The EVO “EVOLVES” the appearance with new interiors, fence styling, and color patterns for an upscale vibe. A new split-back stern lounge accommodates both forward- and rear-facing passengers simultaneously.

The elevated helm is also new, with greater adjustability for captains of all sizes. The focal point on the dash is the offset 15-inch touchscreen that makes customizing wake shapes and navigating your RGB lighting simple and intuitive. The RGB system includes underwater lights, underdeck lights, speaker lights, and interior lighting, all of which are regulated by a four-zone controller. The Boston Acoustics sound system is managed via a Fusion head unit at the helm, powering 12 speakers and two subwoofers. There are additional zone-controlled stereo remotes for the audio in the bow and stern.

For the captain, a completely new fiberglass seat base with smooth, lever-operated swivel and slide adjustments may just be the best seat on board. With that said, besides amazing wakes, the manufacturer is also known for ultra-comfortable seating with cupholders galore—almost 30 total if you’re counting!

The powder-black, full-cast aluminum tower with PTM EdgeForce boardracks increases the sporty look, but Montara takes it a step further by adding surf tows and new, easily adjustable, high-definition cameras that provide outstanding rearward visibility.

Additional highlights include a new step bar mounted midway between the platform and the deck, pullout heater tubes to extend your season, and a massive in-floor ski locker that looks more like a basement than just a locker. We also like the dedicated trash receptacle with a side-access door across from the helm, a large Bimini with an optional SunShade extension, and full-powered access to the engine hatch and ballast system.

Inspection
The performance hull is identical to the Montara 2.0 hull and produces clean, symmetrical wakes. The sleek, hydrodynamic deep-V bottom enhances speed and fuel efficiency and is constructed with high-quality materials for added durability. Above deck, the rail height varies from 24.5 inches in the stern to 29 inches tall for the majority of the perimeter.
Performance
The EVO handles like a dream with the hydraulic steering. Despite weighing in at nearly 7,000 pounds, the pairing with the upgraded 6.2L DI engine from PCM provided a fun and exhilarating ride. She banks beautifully in the tight turns and is extremely responsive. We reached a top speed of 40 mph with the 465hp engine, with a zero-to-20 mph time of 6 seconds. Worth noting, the Liquid Propulsion stern thrusters make close-quarters handling and docking much easier and provide equal thrust to port and starboard.
Final Thoughts
Grab your 15 closest friends and family to join you on this exclusive EVO, which has plenty of comfortable seats (and cupholders) for everyone. A true performance boat capable of delivering precise wakes puts it in a category of its own.

Just being picky…A locking glove box for loose items would be a useful addition. The bow and port gates, at 19 and 18 inches wide, felt somewhat narrow but are not a significant concern.
