First Impression
G3 Boats, a Yamaha Boat Company, offers several brands, including the SunCatcher line. Every SunCatcher Elite Series pontoon comes standard with a comprehensive list of always included features. What you see is what you get, which simplifies the boat-buying experience.
Highlights
Every detail has been carefully refined in the reimagined Elite Series for the new model year, including a new fence design that pays homage to G3’s heritage through contemporary graphics, resulting in a modern and stylish look. Decorative rail designs feature curved angles and extrusions to enhance both strength and visual appeal.

Plush, super-soft seating will welcome you as you come aboard. With two chaise lounges in the bow and two more in the stern, there is plenty of comfortable seating for the 9-passenger maximum rating. Built into the back of the port chaise in the bow is a tip-out 13-gallon trash receptacle that’s easy to access. We also appreciate the 20 total cupholders, along with dual USB A/C charging ports found throughout the boat.

For the captain on the elevated helm platform is a high-back seat that offers adjustable height, flip-up bolster, and easy-access levers for maximum support. The only way to top having a comfortable captain’s chair is to have an identical one directly across for the first mate. That is correct: the layout includes dual helm chairs, and we love that next to the co-captain chair are two cupholders.

At the ergonomic helm with custom billet aluminum details, the focus of the dash is the offset Garmin touchscreen. Other highlights include an integrated RGB light commander, locking glove box, and access to the JL Audio head unit. This pontoon has an amazing sound system with an eight-channel DSP amplifier, M6 marine subwoofer, and eight total speakers.

Outside the stern gate is where you’ll find the ski/tow bar and easy-to-use LilliPad Marine boarding ladder. Worth noting, there is plenty of storage space on board, including under all the seats, under the helm, and inside the in-floor 8-foot long ski locker.

Inspection
The sturdy undercarriage is constructed of three jumbo, 23-inch-diameter by 25-inch-diameter U-shaped performance logs with performance lifting strakes and closed-cell flotation foam. The heavy-duty deck one-piece extrusions are on 16-inch centers and are bolted to the floor, featuring a full-length, under-deck performance shield along with a taller motor pod that can accommodate 25-inch shaft outboards. Up top, there is over 20 feet of usable deck space inside the gates on this nearly 24-footer, and the rail height is a consistent 28 inches tall on average around the perimeter.
Performance
Being owned by an engine company has its advantages, mainly being able to pair its hulls with its outboards. With the Yamaha 250, we recorded a zero-to-20 mph time of 5 seconds with a top speed in the mid-40s. She’s responsive and turns well in the flat turns, thanks to the power-assist hydraulic steering.
Final Thoughts
The Diamond Arch perfectly complements the sporty look of the mostly black exterior, creating a well-executed sporty vibe both inside and out. Without having to dither over options, you’re getting a pontoon exactly as the engineers designed it, which should appeal to many buyers in search of their next pontoon.

Just being picky…Boarding from the bow would be easier if the deck space outside the front gate were a little bigger.
