Veranda Luxury Pontoons is best known for its patented all-aluminum, all-welded interlocking deck system, but we’ll get to its overbuilt construction shortly. At a glance, the styling of the exterior fastback fence design and the carbon fiber accents on this new RELAX Versa lounge made a solid impression, standing out in a positive way.

Good news: the two-tone gray furniture with a quilted design accent is as comfortable as it looks. The integrated lumbar support, combined with wide cushions, provides comfortable seating with wood-free Rotomolded seat bases below. In the bow are two chaise lounges with recessed cupholders, integrated bumper storage, and plenty of room to stretch out. Speaking of comfort, the high-back captain’s and co-captain’s chairs slide, swivel, and recline, and both are on “high-rise” pedestals that hydraulically adjust the seat height.

For the captain, the fiberglass raised platform with SeaDek flooring offers a commanding view, featuring a dash centered on a NMEA-enabled ECHOMAP Garmin multi-function display. The console also includes multi-function gauges, rocker switches, a USB port, a wireless phone charger, helm shifter panel with fire extinguisher storage, and the head unit for the KICKER audio four-speaker system. The Bluetooth audio is amazing, and with the addition of the standard Bazooka bass tube, you can really feel the bass. Additionally, built into the side of the helm console is a tip-out trash receptacle with a hidden glove box storage compartment above. These are two features we feel every boat should have, and the design is well-executed.

In the stern, just past the multi-position Versa Lounge, is a large swim deck that features a removable deep-mounted tube-rated ski/tow pylon and an easy-to-use LilliPad Marine boarding ladder. The designated fender storage located in the stern is a nice touch, providing a simple and practical solution. Other highlights include well-built, heavy-duty gates with positive latches and magnetic gate stops, an in-floor ski locker, LED lighting, RGB underdeck and underwater lighting, and an electric Bimini.

The foundation of each and every Veranda pontoon is the innovative, patented, all-aluminum, all-welded interlocking deck system. “No wood, no rot” is Veranda’s philosophy. The aluminum planks are extruded, creating hollow chambers inside. These chambers reduce weight and allow for aeration of the deck surface, keeping it up to 15 degrees cooler than standard wood floors during the hot summer months. Each 2-by-6-inch plank is engineered to interlock with the others.

After the planks are interlocked, they are welded directly to M-brackets that run the full length of each 0.100-inch-thick, 27-inch-diameter pontoon. This unibody construction, void of cross-members, creates a solid foundation that eliminates flex and noise. The undercarriage also includes its new U-shaped performance motor pod.

Paired with a Yamaha F200 with integrated steering, the 24-footer just missed the 40 mph mark at full throttle after a zero-to-20 mph time of just over 6 seconds. She banks nicely in the sharp turns, though an electric steering upgrade to maximize the handling would be worth considering.

In reality, the patented, all-aluminum, all-welded interlocking deck system probably doesn’t get enough recognition. The solid platform is the foundation of this well-built pontoon. We also see tremendous added value in this model with thoughtful amenities and ample creature comforts. This Veranda boasts a luxurious, high-end vibe, sure to appeal to many buyers.
