Bayliner launches its all-new M19
Bayliner blasted it out of the water at the Miami International Boat Show (or at least made some noise on the convention center floor) with the launching of its newest M-series, the M19. The main goal with the release was to design a boat with simplicity that is to use and maintain, at an affordable price so anyone could have access to enjoy days out on the water. Bayliner clearly checked all the boxes for the 2023 release.

We caught up with Bayliner’s Mike Mercer at the February boat show and he gave us a more in-depth explanation of how the M19 differs from earlier models.

“We redesigned the top of the boat’s layout, while still keeping the M-hull, which continues to give consumers more stability though not needing as much horsepower,” explained Mercer. “This also allows for the M19 to enter shallower areas.”

The overall length of the M19 is roughly 19 feet with an upgraded nine-person capacity. Bayliner offers a lightweight design, making it easier to haul and easier to store.

“Most standard garages are 22 feet in length and we wanted to make sure it could be stored in a standard garage or smaller,” added Mercer. “Because of its lighter weight, this also makes it possible for even a smaller SUV to haul it around.”

Just Store It
Besides being able to store the boat in garages, there are additional storage capability enhancements inside the boat.

“There are plenty of storage areas for all your equipment needs,” said Juan Carpresso, another Bayliner representative at the show. He showed off the seating areas with the storage compartments underneath.

“There’s an in-floor compartment in the middle of the boat and dedicated table storage up front to create added space in the boat,” added Carpresso.

The built-in storage compartment at the helm, plus the molded-in storage with the ski locker gives any boater the peace of mind they need knowing they can pack all the necessities without the hassle of taking up space on the boat.

Ratcheting Backrest
Carpresso also demonstrated the convenience of the convertible lounge area while stating it’s the nicest of its class. To slide, you simply raise up a latch on the top and the backrest can go from a forward-facing seat to a rear-facing one (or somewhere in between with multiple stops) to create a seating configuration you desire.

The convertible lounge is a huge advantage for those who want to comfortably observe tubers and skiers being pulled behind the boat. Plus when it’s time for your water sports enthusiasts to get out of the water, the standard stainless steel telescoping boarding ladder in the stern makes it simple.

Hull Upgrades
Bayliner received feedback on its older models that customers didn’t like the carry-on fuel tank. So one of the updated features on this M19 is an integrated 18-gallon fuel tank built into the hull itself.

The hull design also makes it easier for the boat to fit in tighter or shallower areas, which is great for exploration and fun adventures.

“This boat is aimed at targeting the next generation of boaters,” added Bayliner rep Michelle Voss. “The intuitive design, ease of use and attainable price point makes the boat a great entry point for those wanting to get on the water.”

Behind The Helm
The simple, intuitive controls give any new boat owner the confidence they need to drive and handle like a pro on the water.

The M19 comes standard with a 90hp Mercury Marine outboard with the option of a 115hp, both of which offer outstanding performance and stability. The new Bayliner is available with two packages that can be purchased directly through their dealer. The standard MX package comes as shown on the website, along with a Bimini top with boot, automatic bilge pump, and a waterproof AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth. Then there is the M Comfort package that comes with all those features as well as bow filler cushion, ski/tow pylon, portside lounge seat and more. The retail price of the MX is $30,995; with the Comfort package it comes in around $37K.

When it comes to investing in happiness, these budget-friendly prices should be well-received by those looking at getting into boating, as well as by those who appreciate the added value included with this new Bayliner M19.
