Just being picky…
Great storage options including under the helm, but we’d like to see some type of a glove box to store those smaller items such as keys and wallets.

First Take
Godfrey Marine has an impressive range of models across several different lines and this Monaco is no exception. The lineup is only a couple of years old, yet it’s backed by a manufacturer who’s been building quality boats for more than 60 years and it’s clearly making a name for itself with its latest offering.
Kind Of A Big Deal
Godfrey makes it easy to style your boat with its Designer Select packages. This Monaco is equipped with its Lunar Gray package offering a clean, high-end exterior vibe with a beautiful combination of charcoal, slate and silver colors to match the lunar gray vinyl seating with quilting accents. The black anodized rails and Lakeport plank flooring tie everything together to create a modern look and feel.

The captain’s seat is equipped with a cooled cup holder, quilted vinyl and fold-down arms, which is identical to the co-captain’s chair, additionally it has a raised bolster to improve visibility when driving. The helm includes an optional windscreen and Simrad GO7 XSE touchscreen Chartpolotter/FishFinder that really complete the look of the dash that includes multi-function GPS gauges, rocker switches and access to the Fusion Apollo Silver DSP stereo with four upgraded RGB speakers. An added touch for the speakers (that are located throughout the boat) is the chrome grilles that only add to the high-end look.

There are a total of four chaise lounges on board, two in the bow and two in the stern, with storage below each, but the highlight might just be what Godfrey refers to as its back porch. As you step outside the stern gate, the extended deck provides you plenty of room to relax, fish, swim or entertain. A larger swim deck is a popular layout choice that’s trending and Godfrey clearly understands what customers are looking for.

The Ultimate Deck package adds a touch of bling with the stainless steel boarding ladder, bright polished stainless steel corner castings and integrated pull-up cleats. Plus there is even a deluxe cage-style ski/tow bar for watersports and we should also note the convenient standard power Bimini top.

Closer Look
With the optional GTP 27-inch center triple tube package you have two 25-inch diameter outer tubes with a 27-inch diameter center tube plus an under-deck full-length aluminum skin, inside skirting and lifting strakes. Up top the rail height varies from nearly 25 inches tall in the stern to over 30 inches tall overall for a safe and family-friendly design.
Performance
The zero-to-20-mph time of just 4 seconds says a lot about the Yamaha 250 as well as the top speed in the mid 40s. The SeaStar power assist steering provided easy maneuverability of the pontoon and we dove into some really tight turns with that larger diameter center pontoon which made for an enjoyable and fun ride.
Final Thoughts
The price that includes the Yamaha 250hp four-stroke compared to the base price without power is significant enough that you could take fewer options to reach a lower price point if needed, but we were extremely pleased with the package Godfrey put together and feel there is a lot of value to what is being offered as tested.
