Why we love this boat…
The ride and stability of the catamaran hull is its biggest selling point, but the layout and features up top are just as impressive.
Just being picky…
A ski/tow eye is included, but a ski/tow bar or pylon really should come standard on a well-performing deck boat like this one.

First Take
It really is amazing how much Splendor is able to pack into this 22-footer. While the hull and overall performance will rightly get a lot of attention, the quality, features and top-notch construction work should not be overlooked.
Kind Of A Big Deal
Until you step on the bow you can’t truly appreciate the stability of this hull that is not like other deck boats. Built into the bow deck is a boarding ladder compartment that doubles as an anchor locker and as you step down into the boat you’re greeted with a solid color combination of red accents and two-toned gray seating. On each side in the bow are chaise lounges with surprisingly deep storage compartments below and besides dual cup holders for these loungers there are USB ports on each side to help your passengers stay charged up.

There is a step up on the deck to reach the dual consoles and they are connected by a full wrap-around windshield that helps tie in the sporty look Splendor is going for with its performance-minded deck boat. The dash at the helm is a new design this year with no analog gauges and the main focus is on the large 9-inch Simrad touchscreen which is off-set from the steering wheel with a vertical row of rocker switches down the side. The co-captain helm has a small cubby for smaller items but could really use some type of a lock to help keep paperwork as well as wallets and keys more secure.

The bucket captain’s chair slides and swivels and there is an identical one for the first mate. Directly behind the helm chair is a cushioned seat for water sport “spotters” to help keep an eye on those being towed behind the boat. Below this small bench is a built-in cooler too, giving it a dual purpose. Arguably the most comfortable seat on board however, might just be the rear lounger in the stern that’s located next to the powered motor hatch.

Closer Look
No wood is used in the construction of this boat and during the production process each fiberglass layer is hand laid by an assembly team when constructing the hull. Below deck the gelcoat work is clean and consistent and up top the boat earned high marks for its quality and craftsmanship. The hidden areas are especially well done, including the wiring found under the helm that is bundled and well-protected with a well-labeled fuse box.
Performance
A large diameter four-blade front propeller coupled with a smaller diameter, three-blade rear propeller on the MerCruiser 4.5L engine provided unbelievable acceleration and straight tracking with a zero-to-20-mph time of less than five seconds. We love the engine pairing with this Splendor hull as it effortlessly dives into sharp turns without slipping, for a truly controlled ride. The performance of this catamaran hull is truly impressive, especially when gliding across rough water.
Final Thoughts
With this performance hull, MerCruiser power, spotter seat and more than ample storage for tubes and wakeboards, we see this Katana being used primarily as a water sports boat but it’s also comfortable so it works as a family-friendly cruising boat as well.
