Why we love this boat…
We call this Geneva a “box checker” because it’s a great all-around pontoon that brings a lot of value to the entry- and mid-level market.
Just being picky…
We’d like to see a lockable glove box at the helm for storing your smaller items such as keys and wallets. We get it, it’s all about keeping the price down, but this would be a nice addition.

First Take
Are you ready to check some boxes? When shopping for a boat we all have a list of features we’d like to see and this brand-new model for 2023 has a lot going for it. It starts with the color scheme and how well it flows in harmony together. For example the standard black exterior rails with the blue graphic perfectly tie in with the accent colors on the seats. The boat is truly color-coordinated for a complete package and matches well with the optional Teak weave flooring.

Kind Of A Big Deal

Arguably the highlight of this model is the rear swingback area with “SB” being part of the model’s name. These multi-function lounges are trending right now, but SunChaser takes it a step further by also ensuring the layout is family-friendly. When in the L-shape seating configuration there is a small gate that safely keeps children and pets away from the swim deck. Just behind the captain’s chair is a large storage box that the stern gate is attached to, proving you can never have too much storage on a boat.

Outside the gate is a large 4-foot extended swim deck in the stern with more than enough room to board the boat from either side or to towel off after using the boarding ladder. Inside the boat we counted three chaise lounges with a pop-up changing room built into the back of the portside, one in the bow that stands over 5 feet tall when open.

For the captain is a high-back helm chair that slides, swivels and reclines plus has movable armrests. From this seat you have view of the helm console with multi-function gauges with room to upgrade if desired. There are also well-labeled rocker switches and access to the Jensen stereo controls on this dash and just below the USB port is a storage cubby or a place to add a digital map if desired.

Other key features include a standard power Bimini, ski/tow pylon as well as an optional in-floor ski locker.

Closer Look
The painted black pontoons are an option, but it’s definitely one you should consider. It really completes the look plus it makes the boat go faster. Okay, not really, but it at least looks sportier. The three 25-inch diameter pontoons are part of the X-Treme PR25 Third Tube Performance package with lifting strakes on both sides of the center pontoon and on the outside of the exterior ones.

Up top the rail height varies from 24 inches tall in the bow to 16 inches in the stern.

Performance
With a Mercury 150hp four-stroke outboard on the back we reached a top speed in the mid 30s after our zero-to-20-mph time of 5.6 seconds. That’s plenty of power for pulling tubes or simply cruising around the lake. With the PR25 hull she’s responsive and handles well and even banked slightly in the sharp turns.
Final Thoughts
Priced well to target the entry- or mid-level buyer, this is a great all-around pontoon as tested. These are the types of boats that will not only get people into boating but will firmly keep them there. Everyone’s list will be different, but for a lot of potential buyers out shopping, this Geneva is going to check a lot of boxes.
