Yamaha’s Propeller Facility Speeds Up Production
The new Yamaha Marine Precision Propeller (YPPI) facility in Greenfield, Ind., reached full production capacity in July. The advanced casting facility and foundry uses state-of-the-art robotics to significantly reduce lead times and increase production by more than 67 percent, allowing YPPI to deliver more than 100,000 propellers to customers annually.

The Greenfield YPPI facility now houses the entire propeller casting operation while the YPPI location in Ritter, Ind., will serve as the manufacturer’s post casting and finishing facility. YPPI is one of only two marine propeller foundries in the U.S. and one of the largest stainless-steel investment casting foundries in the world.

As a captive foundry (owned by the company who makes the product), YPPI is in a unique position to meet market demand quickly. While other manufacturers who rely on external sources are currently suffering from lead times that have doubled and tripled, YPPI’s investment in the Greenfield facility helps the company meet demand in a timelier manner.

Cutting-Edge Underwater Lights
Hella Marine enters the underwater entertainment light market with Apelo, a line of surface-mount LED lamps incorporating optical intelligence and robotic manufacturing for superior marine lighting brilliance. Apelo comes in models producing 1,800 or 3,000 lumens of blazing blue/white or RGB light and marks the debut of Hella’s innovative Edge Light technology. Backed by an industry-leading 5-year warranty, Apelo can be relied on to set the perfect dockside mood, boost the party vibe or attract the next trophy catch.

Hella’s unique Optical Intelligence focuses the asymmetrical light pattern efficiently below the waterline in a narrow vertical angle for a spectacular effect. Compact at only 3- 3/4 inches in diameter and less than an inch high, Apelo A1 ($199) and A2 ($269) fixtures install easily with Hella’s robust surface mounting system. Unlike some underwater lights that require a large cutout, they need only a 5/8-inch center and three screw holes.

Restore Your Shine After Saltwater Corrosion
The term stainless steel is somewhat misleading. Continually exposed to the elements, it eventually oxidizes and may even corrode or rust—especially around saltwater. Thankfully, restoration is quick and easy with Innovation Award-winning Buff Magic and a Shurhold Clean-N-Simple tip.

Most refinishing methods require a series of progressively finer grit compounds that are laboriously applied and wiped off one at a time. A true one-step product, Buff Magic contains a unique jeweler’s rouge that breaks down as it’s used. The formula starts with an aggressive abrasiveness that quickly removes surface oxidation and rust, yet transforms into a creamy paste that is gentle enough to polish easily-scratched materials like Plexiglas. A 22-ounce jar of Shurhold Buff Magic Compound retails at $29.98, a 64-ounce container at $66.98, and Serious Shine Quick Detailer at $17.98 for a 14-ounce aerosol.

SeaSucker Takes On Messes With Flair
When spending time outdoors, spills and dirty hands are inevitable, so it’s a good idea to have paper towels ready. The problem is rolls are light and tend to unwind, invariably ending up on a wet deck. With a SeaSucker Paper Towel Holder, cleanup is always within reach. The innovative accessory mounts temporarily, moves to where it’s needed and leaves no trace once it’s removed.

Made in the USA, the SeaSucker Paper Towel Holder ($69) uses a 4.5-inch vacuum mount that sticks to virtually any clean, non-porous surface. Unlike a common suction cup, its holding power accommodates up to 120 pounds and lasts for days with the occasional quick pump of its integrated power button.

Engineered for heavy use, the paper towel holder is built with UV-stabilized materials and 316 stainless steel hardware, and the towel arm is made from durable Plexiglas. An elastic tension band keeps the roll from unraveling and makes tearing off single sheets easy.

JMP Keeps Volvo Boat Engines Primed
Since the 1960s, Volvo Penta has been a popular choice in marine applications for sterndrive propulsion. JMP Corporation offers six different models of replacement cooling pumps to keep these gasoline-powered engines delivering peak performance season after season. Sterndrive boats are often run at high RPMs. JMP cooling pumps move a massive amount of water through the engine—more than OEM—to maintain an optimal temperature. Heavy-duty marine-grade cast bronze bodies are engineered as performance parts with all internals smooth and polished.

JMP cooling pumps for Volvo Penta provide 100 percent drop-in compatibility for trouble-free plug-and-play replacement. They feature corrosion-resistant materials, a lip seal, O-rings instead of gaskets and a marine-grade non-magnetic shaft pulley. Replacement cooling pumps for Volvo Penta gasoline engines start at $321 and come with a one-year limited manufacturer’s warranty.

Accon’s Sleek New Cleat
Contemporary boat designs have become sleeker and more angular. Matching this modern aesthetic is the new design of the 490 Series rectangular pull-up cleats from Accon Marine. For safety and an appealing appearance, the gleaming 6-, 8- and 10-inch fittings sit nearly flush with the deck or gunwale when not in use and lift effortlessly to reveal a cleat with serious holding strength.

Forged from 316 marine-grade stainless steel and polished to a high sheen, each cleat (ranging from $85.10 to $218.68) is slightly arched and blends seamlessly into the deck with minimal protrusion. Molded-in fingertip notches on either side make for easy deployment.
