Adding a barbecue grill to the stern of my pontoon was a game changer for my family. We said bye-bye to cold sandwiches and gladly welcomed burgers, brats and even ribeye steaks to our new on board menu. Foodwise we couldn’t be happier. However, spacewise, well let’s just say the new setup gave me some hesitation.

For starters the rear-facing lounger somehow turned into our makeshift “table” for buns, condiments and grill accessories. That didn’t sit well with a self-proclaimed neat freak like myself, but with minimum space on the stern deck I was forced to just go with it. It’s hard to search for something that you don’t even know exists, but fortunately I stumbled upon a product from Longpointe Nautical called the Nauti Bar Table that solved all my counter space issues.

It’s an aftermarket table that mounts to the top of your ski/tow bar using universal clamps that fits most 1.5-inch or 2-inch diameter bars that you can adjust to ensure it’s level. The Nauti Bar table is tall enough that you still have full engine function while not interfering with the clearance for tow rope hook-ups using your existing tow bar.

With the quick disconnect clamps, installation was simple and now I have a 36-inch by 24-inch table with rounded corners that keeps all condiments off the seats. It even has stainless steel Yeti-ready cupholders built in for my beverage while I’m working the grill. Specific versions are made for Balise, Barletta, Bennington, Crest, South Bay, Starcraft, Sylvan and SunChaser pontoons. On our Barletta version, for example, there is a place for its optional flag mount built into the table, proving they’ve really thought of everything.
