It may be hard to believe this fully-loaded, feature-rich Corsa is only Barletta’s mid-level line. Face it. At first glimpse you might mistake it as part of its high-end luxury series. With a long list of standard features and amenities, this manufacturer clearly wants to make sure you receive plenty of added value with this line, and it shows.
Highlights
Versatility and multi-function are two adjectives that get used a lot when referencing some pontoon layouts, but that’s really the best way to describe the Corsa Ultra-Lounge and first mate seat. Starting with the co-captain chair, you can sit face forward as a bench seat, lay the cushions completely flat, pivot the backrest to be a rear-facing lounger or even prop up a cushion to create a forward-facing recliner which is very impressive. The Ultra-Lounge is simply an expanded version of the first-mate chair and with the split seats there are even more ways to enjoy it, including a back-to-back configuration so more passengers can take advantage of the space.
The sporty-looking helm console is centered on dual gauges with a vertical row of push-button controls on each side of the steering wheel and a wireless charging area for your phone in the middle. Just right of the dash is a Simrad touchscreen with full access to the Mercury VesselView Link. Below the screen are the Hertz stereo controls for the six total speakers on board and we love the stainless covers on those speakers.
New for model year 2022, all Corsa pontoons come standard with Doggie DockView gates, which are see-through door panels on the bow and port gates that allow your pets to see out while also providing you a better view of the dock when you’re pulling in. Another pet-friendly feature is the slide-out dog dish that’s built into the bottom of the helmstand to ensure the family pet stays fed and hydrated.
Other key features include a tube tow cage and extra-wide handholds for the stainless boarding ladder in the stern, a pop-up table built into the back of the port chaise lounge, RGB lighting controls at the helm, dual battery switch, a power Bimini top, an in-floor ski locker and a dedicated anchor storage locker in the floor of the bow.
The 26-inch diameter pontoons include full-length exterior wave tamers on the outside tubes with solid keels, and a combination box and I-beam/C-channel construction make up the hybrid cross member configuration for a solid deck. The V.I.P (Vibration Isolation Pads) Technology helps provide a quiet ride too. The exterior panels with blackout rails around the perimeter stand over 26 inches tall for most of the boat, with the lowest rail in the stern still measuring 23 inches.
Performance
The digital Mercury controls combined with the U-Flex EZ Steer steering make this boat a lot of fun to drive. Powered with a Mercury 300 Verado, we reached top speeds near the 50 mph mark with a 0-to-20 time of less than 5 seconds.
Final Thoughts
We’re used to seeing pontoons packed with a lot of cool features, but in this case a lot of those are part of Barletta’s standard package. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of it for consumers when the manufacturer is able to dial in a complete package – with a handful of key options – to create a great all-around pontoon.
