(Boat and Motor)
(Boat w/ 115hp)
Despite all the other great features and amenities on board, it’s the rear sitting area where you can truly transform the layout that will draw you toward this boat. It takes the concept of a swingback lounger to a whole new level.
Highlights
Starting in the stern, we love the creativity of having four total swingback lounges with the RLZ floorplan. The unique layout provides you with multiple ways to enjoy the space including front- and forward-facing seats, a conversation area with the bench seats facing each other with a table in between, or even completely lying flat.
With the extended deck that includes a tall ski pylon and a four-step boarding ladder outside the stainless railing with dual stern gates, this might just be the most coveted area on board. How could it be any better? Try adding Quick Shade, a new option for 2022 which completely and easily shades the back of your boat. It is similar to the systems you see on high-end yachts and helps give the boat a luxurious touch. For the rest of the boat, the standard power Bimini top does a great job keeping everyone out of the sun.
We love the conservative gray color scheme used for the interior that matches well with the optional Infinity Teak Weave vinyl flooring. A soft-touch vinyl is used on all the seats with the Rotocast seat bases below providing a great storage option. In the bow are two chaise lounges and built into the back of the one on the portside is a pop-up changing room that stands 5 and a half feet tall when open.
We love the four swingback lounges in the stern, but you could make a strong case for the dual, high-back helm chairs for the captain and first mate being the most comfortable on board. The helm dash provides room for future upgrades such as a touchscreen, but as is, the multi-purpose analog gauges provide you with the key information you need. This is also where you can access the upgraded JL Audio Bluetooth stereo as well as the boat’s only USB and 12-volt ports.
For those wanting to really customize the look of their pontoon, there are eight different color options for the exterior panels plus five different graphic colors to help you dial in the look to your specific tastes.
Equipped with the SPX PR25 Performance package, you gain a third pontoon with lifting strakes on all three tubes. The black painted pontoons are an option, but well worth the upgrade in our opinion because they provide a unique look that flows well with the black exterior rails. Above deck, the railing around the perimeter varies from 25 inches in the bow to nearly 28 inches tall for the majority of the boat.
Performance
When we put the throttle down on the Yamaha 250hp four-stroke we were pleasantly surprised at our 0-to-20 mph time of just 4 seconds on our way to reaching nearly 50 mph at full throttle. She handles great, especially in the turns for a fun and comfortable ride, proving you can combine luxury and performance.

While the stern area is our favorite section of the boat, don’t lose sight of all the other great features as well as the overall quality construction of this Sylvan. It has much more to offer than just a fun floorplan, including a smooth and well-performing ride.
