At PDB magazine, we’re always eager to test the latest models on the market, so we were thrilled to take the Lago X22S out for a recent spin on the water. From the open floorplan and soft vinyl seating to the high-backed helm chairs and buttery-smooth electric steering, we found plenty to admire.

The popularity of the Lago X ranks it as THE top-seller for the manufacturer. Andrew Stanfield, vice president of sales at Viaggio Pontoons said, “The Lago X is our best-selling line and one of our most versatile models, offering a wide range of price points and delivering excellent value for the investment.” And it’s clear to see why it’s at the top.

Designed For Comfort

Viaggio’s 2026 Lago X22S has a thoughtfully designed layout to maximize both relaxation and social space on the water. With room for 11 passengers, there’s a spot for everyone in your party to claim. The open, inviting layout combines generous space with supportive seating, making it ideal for cruising, entertaining or enjoying a full day on the water.

Up front, the U-shaped seating configuration encourages conversation and connection, giving family and friends plenty of room to gather comfortably. The dual bow loungers are incredibly soft and comfortable; cut-out storage includes recessed cupholders and a spot for your phone. The cognac brown vinyl with dark grey accents is a beautiful contrast to the matte black exterior and has a high-end look on the water. We love that the storage includes a small mirror.

At the stern, a versatile swing-back bench allows passengers to effortlessly switch between forward-facing cruising and rear-facing lounging—creating the perfect vantage point for relaxing while anchored or watching watersports behind the boat. We appreciate that the swing-back bench could also be set up for back-to-back seating, and that the safety rail at the stern allows for rear-facing lounging while underway.

Andrew added, “The Lago X has an exceptional vinyl package that features luxury-grade materials along with dry storage beneath every bench seat, as well as high-back captain’s chairs often found only in higher-tier models.”

Ready for entertaining, the Lago X comes standard with a black round table kit with removable table post, integrated cupholders with dual port USB chargers and lumbar speakers, and a Clarion audio system.

Fun On The Water

Giving you easy access to the water, all Lago X models come with a 2-foot extended swim deck, providing additional space for easy water access and comfortable lakeside lounging. Our test model included the well-designed Lillipad Marine stern boarding ladder with ghost mounts, as well as an Xtreme ski/tow bar in back so you’re set up for watersports.

Commanding Helm

The fiberglass helm is equipped with 5-inch multi-function gauges and backlit push buttons for easy operation, along with a high-back captain’s chair for added comfort and a handy mesh pocket for easy storage. A matching co-captain’s chair is positioned directly across from the helm, providing a comfortable spot for a passenger to ride alongside.

The helm remains an important selling point according to Jamie Holbrook, owner of Greenlee Marine Boat Sales. Jamie said, “The Lago X stands out with its fiberglass console, complemented by a vinyl-wrapped, automotive-style dash and instrumentation, all enhanced by a sleek glass windshield.” 

During our test run, we appreciated luxurious touches at the helm such as the Gussi Italia Molino steering wheel, the upgraded Lowrance Eagle 5 fishfinder, and the fold-down armrests in the helm chairs.

Built with durability in mind, the triple tube Lago X22S has heavy-duty construction and 2-inch-thick rails that add both structural strength and a bold visual presence. Andrew noted that, “The Lago X features a unique build and robust construction that make it stand out in its price category. Its sleek 2-inch rails give it a distinctive look, while the solid construction delivers a smooth, confident ride.”

We loved the sleek, modern look of our test model with black anodized rails, deck trim, and side skirting. We also appreciate Viaggio’s high quality construction across its model lines. Jamie added, “Utilizing the same high-quality construction found in the Diamante and Lago Z models, the Lago X delivers exceptional value, with its wide range of standard options.”

Test Drive

Blending seamlessly with the matte black rails, the 200hp Suzuki Stealth engine in black gave us the power we needed to fly across the water. We reached zero-to-20 mph in just 6 seconds, with a top speed of 38 mph. Rated for up to 300hp, the Lago X also features a 58-gallon fuel tank, sealed lifting strakes, and tube protectant to enhance performance.

Multitude Of Choices

The Lago X Series offers an extensive range of color combinations. Boaters can choose from ten matte exterior colors and 11 stripe colors, along with a variety of furniture and flooring options to create a look that fits their style.

While we tested the S version featuring the swing-back lounger, you can also choose from among six other floorplans, including the Quad Lounge with four luxurious swiveling bucket seats in addition to rear bench seating or the Universal with opposing, plush lounges in both the bow and aft, providing a “couches all around” feel.
